My mother in law reached out to me for help in exploring the option of trading in her vehicle to purchase a newer model. She gets her oil changes from the Quicklane service and mentioned she saw a vehicle she liked at the Chuck Colvin dealership. I’m not a fan of interacting with salesman or dealerships due to the aggressive sales tactics, but since my mother in law is a single elderly woman whom isn’t fluent in English, I knew I needed to assist her throughout her visit and not feel pressured to make a serious decision. When we arrived at the dealership, we were greeted by Nestor. He was friendly and wasted no time in allowing us to see the vehicle she was interested in. While observing the vehicle, my mother in law made a comment in Spanish and Nestor respectfully asked her if she would like for him to continue our conversations in Spanish. What a relief for me! I no longer needed to be the middle guy for communication. He was fluently bilingual and was able to make her feel comfortable enough to carry the conversation without my assistance. He was able to talk to her about the vehicle and all the features, offered the test drive. He never asked her to fill an application, he only asked for her license to test drive. We never sensed any pressure to buy and even offered to step away for a moment to discuss if it was a vehicle she wanted to explore financing. She ultimately decided to fill out a credit application and he was upfront with her about the process the whole way. Again, he really made my job easy and I felt like she really could have gone through the process without my presence. Chuck Colvin ended up giving her a fair amount of money for her trade in and he was up front about what things drives up or down the trade in value. By the end of the purchasing experience, we left satisfied with the service we received and would gladly recommend Nestor to any of our friends or family. It’s good to see salesman not fit the typical stereotype and make it an easy experience. I’ll be in the market for a used truck soon and will definitely explore Chuck Colvins lot when the time comes.
